Recognizing Our School Board this January
In honor of School Board Recognition Month, let’s take a moment to recognize and thank our school board directors for their vision, leadership and service to Highline.
These five elected community members volunteer their time and energy to guide our schools, ensuring every student is known by name, strength and need, and graduates prepared for the future they choose.
A Commitment to Service
School board members take on this role in addition to their personal and professional commitments. They attend board and committee meetings, visit schools, and participate in public events and celebrations.
The Role of Our School Board
Our school board plays a vital role in shaping the success of our schools. Their responsibilities include adopting policy, monitoring progress and listening to community feedback.
Over the past year, our board has continued to champion Highline's strategic goals, including fostering biliteracy and bilingualism, increasing student success, and creating equitable opportunities for every student. Their leadership drives initiatives that prepare students for learning after high school, careers and life.
We appreciate their commitment to our students, staff and families.
